Please provide as much information as you can then click on the “Submit” button.

Your invitation to MMCA Genealogy!

Dear MMCA Member,

The Micum McIntire Clan Association (hereafter, the Clan) is delighted to announce the launch
of a Zoom Interest Group (ZIG) for Updating the Red Book/General McIntire Genealogy and
we are particularly inviting YOU!

This Zoom Interest Group will have two focuses:

1) Bringing the genealogical information in the most recent (1983) “Red Book” (Micum
McIntire genealogy) up to date, and;
2) General Micum McIntire family history and earning related genealogy how-to tools and
skills.

Updating the Red Book – The “Red Book” is the Clan’s shorthand for the second (1983)
edition of the genealogy “Descendants of Micum McIntire,” by Robert Harry Mcintire, so-called
because it has a bright red cover. You are not required to purchase a Red Book in order to
participate, but having a copy will make your efforts easier. It is not available online (although
the earlier 1940 version is). Copies of the 1983 genealogy are available to be purchased
through the Clan website: https://micummcintireclanassociation.org/product/micum-mcintire-family-revised-edition/

The Red Book genealogy carries Micum McIntire’s descendants from his own life all the way
forward to those descendants whom Robert Harry Mcintire was able to identify in 1983. It
includes the great-grandparents, grandparents, or parents of most present-day Micum
descendants, so we will be focusing on filling in the gaps from the last 1983 entries in our
specific lines to the present. For some families, that could be a lot of people! The Red Book
has a specific format for how it describes and presents descendants’ information. We are
going to use and fill in that same format as we add information about new descendants.
General McIntire Genealogy – Although Robert Harry McIntire’s 1983 genealogy is the
definitive work to date, it is not perfect. No genealogy ever is. So our other focus will be on
learning basic online genealogical tools and skills to help us to find and fill in any gaps we
identify further back in our family lines. The same tools and skills may be of use to you in
doing other family history research, as well.

Email Jonathan if you’d like to join in a Zoom gathering for members interested in our shared family history and how to track it down.  The Zoom gatherings last about 40 minutes and the group will jointly decide how frequently to meet. All gatherings are free of cost, but we encourage you to donate and to join the Clan by submitting your dues—see the website.

These meetings are free to members and there is no commitment. Join us for one meeting or join us for them all. I’ll be getting back in touch with those that signed up with a consensus of the dates when most people can make it along with a Zoom link for the date decided on. Looking forward to it!

Cruachan!
